The Ohio State University, the University of Cincinnati, and Miami University invite all law schools and law-related vendors and organizations to participate in our joint Ohio Virtual Law Expo on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. This event will be facilitated using Handshake's Virtual Fair platform which provides law schools with the capability to host both 30-minute group sessions and 10-minute 1-to-1 conversations.
Each school/vendor/non-profit that registers will be provided with information about our schools and interested students, access to speak with students directly over video, and additional opportunities.
Law Fair Logistics
Wednesday September 30
9:00am-3:00pm - Law schools and vendors are invited to schedule pre-law advisor conversations during the day as a way to connect on a program level.
3:00-7:00pm - Law School-only Zoom Meeting. Starting one hour prior to the Law Expo and continuing during the event, we will be hosting a simultaneous Zoom Meeting for Law School Representatives to connect with the Pre-Law Advisors who are coordinating the Law Expo. This will be for "behind the scenes" conversations including Handshake-platform questions as well as an opportunity to connect directly with Pre-Law Coordinators, similar to what would happen at an in-person Law Fair.
4:00-7:00pm - Ohio Virtual Law Expo, Handshake platform sessions. Details about scheduling both 30-minute group sessions and 10-minute individual appointments will be provided by Handshake; law schools are welcome to use the 3-hour block in whatever manner works best, for example:
- Option 1 - 30 minute sessions at 4:00, 4:30, and 5:00pm, with 10 minute appointments scheduled from 5:30-7:00pm
- Option 2 - 30 minute sessions at 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00pm, with 10 minute appointments scheduled in-between
These are not the only options however due to student schedules and availability we recommend spacing out both the group sessions and the individual appointment slots. Schools which expect high interest will want to consider having multiple admission representatives available in order to offer more 1-on-1 appointments.
Thursday October 1 and Friday October 2
9:00am-5:00pm - Law schools and vendors are invited to call the Law Expo organizers for any follow-up needs or conversations.
In preparation for the Law Expo on September 30, we are asking all law schools to consider including the following information in your Handshake profile:
- A brief overview of your law school including a link to your law school's website and/or admissions page;
- Links to any law school virtual tours or similar resources;
- A link to your institution's Standard 509 Information Report.
By providing the information above this will allow students who are viewing this event to directly access additional information while directing them to your website for further exploration.
