Opportunities mentioned in the Pre-Law Briefs newsletter will be posted below. EXTERNAL OPPORTUNITIES
For any opportunity below make sure you are aware of deadlines or other relevant dates, any qualifications or requirements, or commitments you are making by applying/being accepted. Listings are not necessarily deleted once a deadline passes.
Recruitment Programs are typically hosted by law schools and can range from virtual open houses to multi-week preview programs featuring workshops and guest speakers. These tend to be open to any who sign up by a deadline and do not require an application or fee. These can be a great way to get to know a law school or learn more about what law school is like in general.
Pathway (aka Pipeline) Programs may be sponsored by law firms, legal education organizations, or even law schools. Some are focused on a summer internship, others may include coursework. They may also include scholarships for the future, LSAT and/or Bar Exam support, and even employment after law school. Programs of this nature often include an application process and may require you to pay a registration or tuition fee if you are accepted.
Full-time Jobs and part-time or seasonal Internships with a legal focus are also listed below.

Constitution Day Panel
We invite you to attend a Constitution Day Panel on September 17, 2025. A distinguished panel of MSU Law Professors will discuss key contemporary Constitutional issues and the roles attorneys play in their resolution from 12:00 – 1:30 PM. Register for this program.
Spartan Prelaw Days
We invite you to visit us on-campus to learn more about the legal profession, MSU Law, and how to prepare a successful law school application. Spartan Prelaw Days will take place on September 26 and 27, 2025. On Friday, students will learn about law college applications and timelines, preparing for the LSAT, and strategies for maximizing the strength of their application. Students will be able to engage with law college faculty and staff, take a tour of MSU Law, hear from current law students, and participate in a mock law class.
Following this programming, students are invited to join the State Bar of Michigan’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee for a Faces of Justice networking reception taking place at MSU Law. Attorneys and judges from around the state will speak to students about their legal careers spanning many diverse practice areas and share great mentorship advice.
This two-day event concludes with an LSAT practice exam administration, on Saturday, September 27, in partnership with The Princeton Review Test Prep. Students can experience the test in a simulated environment to assess their strengths and weaknesses and devise a plan to study for the LSAT. Students must bring a personal laptop to participate in the practice test. The Princeton Review will present after the practice exam, discussing score results, how to interpret them, how to best utilize the student’s individual score report to inform their LSAT preparation, and walk through test-taking strategies. I am attaching a program flyer for use in advertising this program.
Students may attend one, two, or all three portions of the programming. Complete the registration process. Students wishing to stay overnight may request the MSU Law discount rate at the Residence Inn by Marriott or Townplace Suites by Marriott.
