Sports Law continues to be a changing field, especially with college athletics and everything from NIL to compliance. Come have lunch with national expert (and Ohio State alum) Matt Mitten, Executive Director of the National Sports Law Institute at Marquette University Law School! Registration via Handshake is required.
Professor Mitten has authored textbooks such as Sports Law: Governance and Regulation, testified before various Congressional committees, serves as an arbitrator for the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland, and was chair of the NCAA's Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports.
He is also a 1981 alum of Ohio State, having earned his B.A. in Economics in addition receiving his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law. Visit Marquette Law for Professor Mitten's full biography.
Please note this event is for students with a genuine interest in Sports Law. This is not a generic “Lunch with a Lawyer” - students will be expected to discuss why they are interested in the intersection of sports and the legal world (though not necessarily as an area of practice). Bring your questions!
