Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Law is nothing if not reading.  Think you can catch everything in a phrase or know when words are signaling important concepts?  Can you tell if someone has broken the law just by skimming the text of the law?  Join us for this interactive and mentally taxing workshop as we explore and figure out what it means to read for detail (aka "close reading") using the socratic method, an improbable fact pattern, and a touch of absurdist humor.

Must be willing to talk and engage - sitting quietly in the back doesn't work in law school and won't work in this session.

There is no specific major or college focus - all Ohio State students are welcome to attend!  Non-STEP students, to pre-register (not required) visit the Handshake event page.

This event also serves as a STEP Professional Development Co-Curricular for current second year students.  Go to the STEP website to login and register.
