OIP's goals are to "prevent wrongful conviction by promoting awareness of its existence on College Campuses and to generate student and community support for the Ohio Innocence Project, and its efforts to remedy Wrongful Convictions; host events designed to educate college students and the general public about Wrongful Conviction and its occurrence; recruit members with a shared interest in the matter who wish to learn more about it; hold bi-weekly meetings for members to discuss involvement in the organization and organizational activities; support and promote the efforts of the Ohio Innocence Project through social media and campus media outlets."
