Many pre-law students look for experience in a law firm. While some have gained experience in such positions, most law firms reserve "internship" positions for law students; however, be on the lookout for either general clerical or "go-for" positions, which occasionally open up for undergraduates.

This is just a small list of the opportunities available. If you are enrolled in the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences please make an appointment with a career counselor in the Arts and Sciences Career Services Office, 05 Brown Hall, or call (614) 292-7055. We have someone who will work with you to find the internship, in the agency or organization you want.

  • Phi Alpha Delta, a co-ed fraternity, will teach you the secrets to networking, preparing for the LSAT, being accepted into law school, and much more. For more information visit the web site at http://www.pad.org/

  • The OSU Law Expo - during Autumn quarter, law schools send admission representatives to the OSU campus to talk to students about law school. Usually held in October, in the Ohio Union Ballooms, the event is free, and everyone is welcome. The representatives are available to answer any questions students might have about their individual schools and about the law school experience in general. Most of these people are members of their own law school admission committees who, along with others, are the ones who ultimately decide who is admitted and who is not admitted to their law schools.

  • Law School Forums – these are similar to local law fairs, but are held in major cities and generally offer even more information, have more law school admission officers in attendance, and provide video programs about the law school admission process which are not always available at the law fairs on campus.
